Toro 60v recycler push mower issues

I have that mower too...it sucks! The mulch/bag flap area has a blocked area down low which prevents good bagging. The low speed mode when in automatic keeps the blade from spinning fast enough to to do a good job. You can improve the performance a bit by installing the Toro Atomic blade from the gas Recycler models, p/n 59534P. It has more lift which will create more suction and throw the grass into the bag better, but you may still have grass clippings when mulching. Mine always left a trail down the right side of the mower. And if you back up there would be a little clump right in the middle. Unfortunately there is no way to make the mower stay at high speed, but using the blade I mentioned will cause more air resistance and therefore more load on the motor which may make it go to high speed more often. This will reduce your run-time a bit as well, though. The way to make this mower work is to change the blade and mow OFTEN. The less you cut off the top the better the mower will mulch and the less clippings you should see. FYI: I also have the Toro 60v Super Recycler and it does a much better job using the included Performance blade, not the economy blade that comes installed.
