I have an 18" single blade Sunbeam Electric lawn mower. Long story short: I need a top bushing for the electric motor. The rest of the motor is brand new. Does anyone have any idea where I can find a replacement or maybe get the one that I have bored out and a sleeve or bearing installed.

It is not a standard type of bushing. It is barrel shaped with two grooves on the outside to hold it into the two locating areas on both halves of the motor. There is no way to measure the barrel precisely.
The motor is assembled with the old part right now but if you think that you have any in stock I can disassemble and take pictures. If I can locate a parts breakdown I will send you the part number too.

I am having a difficult time in finding a parts breakdown for that particular machine so at this point it may not be possible to get a part number.
If a part has to be made I assume that the machining cost will be prohibitively expensive.
If you have any Sunbeam brand parts in your stock and it is simply a matter of matching them up that would save me the machining costs.
The question then becomes 'Do you have Sunbeam brand parts in your stock?' in particular any top bushing for any Sunbeam electric lawn mower?

OK, I'm a very patient person, but here's the bottom line...

You've wasted our time for a day. You still have not provided the model number of the Sunbeam lawnmower. A couple of us have suggested that you measure the bushing dimensions precisely and post a picture or two. We are not dealers. We are interested individuals who have resources (machine shops and excellent research skills) and try to help other people. If you provide us with useful information, we will try to help you.

The way I see it you are the one who has wasted my time. If you do not have anything to offer why did you respond in the first place?
Obviously I can get a part made at any machine shop. There are plenty of them in my area. If you have a good used part for sale at a reasonable price I would be interested in buying it and paying for the shipping too. It makes no difference whether or not you are a dealer.
I am not a dealer and I would be willing to sell parts that I am not using.

Tabora said that this group has resources. If any of those resources include any parts breakdowns for Sunbeam electric mowers that would be helpful to me. I understand that both the single speed single blade and the two speed single blade electric and possibly the twin blade mowers all used the same motor bushings.

Where can I order parts for an older Sunbeam® electric mower?

Sunbeam® electric lawn mowers were produced under the Sunbeam® brand, which was acquired by Jarden Consumer Solutions in 2004.

Most Sunbeam® electric lawn mowers were manufactured between 1950 and 1960, after which the company changed gears to focus on small appliances. Today, Sunbeam® primarily manufactures small kitchen appliances. The electric lawn mowers are no longer produced.

As time went by suppliers for these older Sunbeam® manufactured mower parts became more scarce.

However, we still maintain a few replacement parts. These few remaining parts are mostly fastening hardware and the drive belt, Sunbeam® part# 10015 which is our MTD part # 754-0374.

To check on the possibility of other service parts availability for these products, please call
1-800-269-6215 and our parts support personnel will be happy to help you.

I appreciate the info. It confirms what I had learned from other sources. Actually the Sunbeam mowers that I have had were later models from the early 1970's.

Although it was a real long shot I had hoped that someone had some NOS parts or had saved some good used parts from one that was unrepairable in their personal stuff that they would part with.
I don't think that there would have been any aftermarket parts other than blades but who knows.
