Winston, what did you use to clean your carburetor?
If you glass bead blasted it, chances are there is a small amount of residual glass powder preventing you from threading the fuel nozzles back in.

If you just cleaned it with gasoline, it is possible that the fuel loosened up some grime and it settled into one of the thread chases. I would grab some Brake Cleaner or Carb and Choke cleaner and spray down the threaded regions of the carburetor. If the brass fuel nozzles have good threads, and the carburetor has good threaded sections, everything should go back together without a hitch. If the brass threads are flattened or peened over from falling, or from twisting, it is time to run a tap down the carburetor hole, and a die over the threaded length of the nozzle. What ever you do, DO NOT exert ample force to thread the nozzles back in, they will shear off or brake and will have you fondling with multiple sizes small drill bits and extractors to get out. If it does not go in easy, something is wrong!

:ditto: Yeah, it doesn't take a very big piece of varnish, or something like that, to plug something up.

 

I looked at this again, its definitely a piece of metal or part of the carb itself. It looks like something from inside the carb has slid in the way of the nozzle passage from inside the carb chamber. It looks like there is a insert or something on the inside and appears it may have moved, I tried moving what I think is an insert but its tight and wont move. I didn't drop it so i can't figure out what caused this. Just took the carb apart and put it in the basket to soak in carb cleaner. Went to put it together and now this mysterious piece of metal is blocking the nozzle passage... CONFUSED>>>
I tired attaching a picture, but I couldn't get that to work and my patience is running low.. If anyone is curious as to what this looks like I will email it to you or some instructions on attaching pictures...

I hope this picture helps out. If you look closely you can see the upper passage way for the nozzle is blocked with metal preventing the upper and lower nozzles to be installed. I cant figure out what caused this or how it even happened. Anyone have any ideas???:scratch:

 

Update: I finally figured this one out. This type of carb has a "floating venturi" located inside the air chamber of the carb. The venturi slides back in forth and will spin around when the nozzles are not in place. When its lined up correctly there is a hole in the venturi where the nozzles go and allowing it all to be put back together correctly. I guess when I took it all apart and soaked it, the venturi spun a little bit causing the nozzle hole to be blocked. I think when I took it out of the carb solution and it dried out the venturi became locked in place causing it to not move. I soaked it down with PB penetrating oil, took the welch cap our of the end of the carb and was able to put some pressure on it with a screw driver. I was finally able to move the venturi back in place and line the holes up. It all went back together and now it runs great...
