I shredded/broke the PTO belt on my X500 about 3 months ago. Belt was about 5 years old, so didn't think much about it. Now the replacement belt is in the same shape. Wife was mulching leaves and I'm sure there was a lot of build-up under there (she had blown it all clean by the time I got there). Anything I need to look for before putting another $60 belt on? Thanks...

Make sure the path of the belt is clear of any shields or anything. Then checked all pulleys idler pulleys for free movement. All should turn freely. Maybe a guide moved and is hitting belt?

Thanks for the info. When I get a new one mounted, will make sure everything is free and clear. Wife has been mulching leaves pretty much non-stop for the past week, so suspect she had a few 'jams' and let it slip a little longer than she should have before clearing it. Thanks again.
