FEEL FREE to share what you know about the many different ones, i don't want to spend a fortune ,but will pay for the best one i can get used or new.. I BOUGHT ONE sears attachment edger I had to return it --it wobbled around so bad, you couldn't direct it. I am thinking on a 3 wheeled or 4 wheeled motorized version of an edger . Which would you purchase?---------don't hold back tell me what you think!!! i'm tired of buying the wrong thing at my age. waiting to hear :help: bob s

The bolens has been great. Only wish it had a Briggs motor over techumse. Other than that all is well. Much faster and easier to use.
So you'd reccomend the 3 wheel type with a bigger motor??i am older and have an asphalt drive 250' around the horseshoe and maybe mo.The wheeled type ......a guy wouldn't get as tired as he would pushing a "dedicated edger" all that way????

3 or 4 wheel edger is best. Get either one you get a better deal on. Yes it will be much less work than the stick style edger. Anything above 3 hp will be just fine (I beleive techumseh went out of business?). You can still get air filters for techumseh and so on without problem. I believe the belts is based on length or brand of edger not brand of engine.

Mine is a three wheeler, its OK - for a cheapie ($200 plus new, $100 on CL, used).
These machines devour blades , actually , its the concrete, soil, and stones..
The OEM was, 9" I think , its was worn down to 6 1/2 !
For $150 I could have bought an old "turf-master" ? which is self propelled and oscillates...on CraigsList...
