Welcome! I agree it sounds like the Ignition switch, If it isn't that check the selonidHi Thanks: I have 34 hp mitsubishi diesel on my groundmaster 325d. The only way I can start it is by shorting across the starter. When I try to start it normally, all I get is a click. Battery is good. Plenty of juice. engine runs great. I don't know where to start. there are at least two or three safty switches. Also I'm not sure how the pre heating is tied in to the mix. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks Bob Levin 805-443-4017
Where did you get it from? Was it from a toro realer or was it a universal? I got mine at a parts store and payed $25 for mine. Mine is weird. It as a ground wire on the side an dthen battery, recitier, start and I can't remember the rest. It has 6 prongs. This is not where I got it from but its the same thing http://cgi.ebay.com/Ignition-Switch...400115896037?cmd=ViewItem&hash=item5d28c40ee5I got the swith in the mail today. hope I have time to install it tomorrow 28th.
Thats great news I hope it works.I got the swith in the mail today. hope I have time to install it tomorrow 28th.
Sounds about like me. and I am having to trace every single wire back down. I have found quite a few out of place. I would try maybe looking at first the switch diagram. Make sure its the right switch. It may look the same but look at the letters on the switch and make sure all those match up with the diagram. then if those are right, check the fuses. If they are fine make sure all the wires to the safety switches are nice and snug and working. Do that first and lets see how it gets you. Good Luck. DustyI installed the switch today. Sad to say that didn't help. I can't understand why the engine will not stop running even when i turn the switch to "off". Another thing that has me baffled is I am able to start the engine by shorting across the starter wheather the switch is in either the off position or the run position. Thanks for any more feedback that may be out there. Sincerely Bob L.
