Hello, troyand, and welcome to our forum. I would suggest cruising Ebay and Craigslist for a tranny that would fit your needs. I am afraid that a new one will be pretty darn expensive. Is that the hydro version or the gear drive?

I'm new to this site, just found out about it today!

I grew up farming w/all JD equipment, so green is in my blood. :D I've had a couple of two-cylinder "work & show" tractors, now I've down sized to L&G's & a 790 compact to use.

The pics below are my L&G collection, L to R; 71-110, 74-112, 69-140 w/Johnson loader (now sold), 83-420, 9?-F525, 82 317 "Special", & 69-L60 "Custom.

Second pic is of my JD cart collection; 420, #15, #10, 8HD, 80, #7, #5, & 50. ~~ grnspot110

Nice machines, thanks for posting the photo!

Wow, they sure look clean and in very nice shape.

Two great yard tools there!

Own a John Deere Mower? Have a Lawn you are proud of? Introduce your self!
I have a brand new D125, but have been on this forum for a while. I enjoy working on my yard even in the blistering hot East Texas Summers. I only mow a residential 1/4 acre lot, but wish I had more to mow. I am looking forward to helping and learning from all of you.

John Deere 2014 X304

Have just trade up from my John Deere 2006 L118 to the 2014 X304. What a difference in machines and cutting the lawn! The 2014 has easy adjustment to the cutting height and the deck has other improvements, the spindles have the grease fitting at the top making service fast. Also the deck looks different. I installed the anti scapling kit to help with cutting at 2 1/2. The cooling fan over the transmission looks bigger. The Kawasaki 18.5 engine has plenty of power and noise level is low compared to other riding lawnmowers. I also put the mulching cover over the side discharge and have no problems with cutting wet grass.

Bought my first green-colored machine today, an LX176. The sticker under the seat says 1992. Appears to have the original 14HP Kawasaki.

Or maybe not, I haven't researched any serial numbers etc yet.

Runs well, mows well. Just gotta figure some of the stuff out on it. Any tips are appreciated.

Thank you for the add.

I am looking for information on my JD 820 tiller and where to get cables etc.........
