I have a rear wheel drive mower. This may sound stupid but I need to know this. When I am moving the mower and it's not on, can I just push it without lifting up the real wheels? I ask because it makes a kind of grinding noise when I do this. Hope I've made myself clear, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi calico, welcome to the MLMF. As they say, no such thing as a stupid question, and I'll try not to give a stupid answer.

Because of the mechanical nature of machines, I would suspect that they all make some kind of noise, running or not. I know all of mine do.

Unless it really sounds like it's grinding itself to death, I don't imagine you have anything to worry about, but first, let me ask,

Is this a new mower to you, or a new sound you've never heard coming from it before?
