Took the Gas tank out to seal a crack with a fiberglass patch, vent tube and connector with rubber grommet on it already out......now I know why cant get the dang thing in the hole. Gromet seems almost to big. Gas hose and groment went right in . If I take the vent connector and gromet off it will be sloppy and pop out. Tried to lube it up a bit but still to sloppy?

How do you get it in the hole ???

That gromet looks worse for the wear after being removed. If it were mine, I would get a new one and use a wipe vasoline on it to reinstall. The grommet can't be that much. The old one looks torn up due to age and gasoline fumes swelling it up to the point It can't be reinstalled. Had the same issue with a Red Max 2 cycle trimmer I borrowed from son in law that was a big leaker. New one was like $4 and sealed perfectly. My $0.02 worth
