Toro starting problem

1841 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  rhenning
I have a Toro. It froze up due to not enough oil (my bad). I unfroze it by spraying lots of WD40 into the sparkplug hole. Now I can pull the starter rope okay, but even with a new sparkplug, it won't start. I don't think it's getting a spark.

The cylinder walls are probably scored badly from lack of oil and therefore you no longer have good compression. You need that for the engine to run. Basically your motor is now junk. Roger
Others got lucky and you didn't. Just not your day. WD 40 will not effect the coil and can even be used as a starting fluid. Roger
