Hello everyone from a newbie to the forum...
I have a '97 Toro Super Recycler 20472 lawnmower with a Briggs & Stratton 5HP 128802-0615-02 engine. Over the last 14 years I've been able to keep this puppy in good shape with annual maintenance and various repairs (starter rope, wheels, v belt, speed control unit, head gasket)
This spring I rebuilt the carb with B&S kit including all gaskets, and also replaced the cracked primer bulb. However, the bulb does not appear to sufficiently prime the carb with gas. No resistance on depression or reinflation of the bulb. Does not start for first three or four primes & rope pulls. Does finally catch and runs just fine afterwards.
Primer bulb appears fully seated in the plastic housing. Gasket between carb and filter housing backplate appears intact (it has a small hole to allow bulb air pressure to pass through carb housing and pull gas into the chamber.)
Any suggestions for troubleshooting? Thanks in advance...Chef K
