o.k. the other day im cutting my grass and the gears inside the transmission start skipping. it appeared that the gears in it went bad. so i order a set off of ebay install them and about 20 minutes after i started cutting the same problem starts again any ideas?

Are you sure it's the gears skipping? Did you just replace individual gears, or the whole gear case? Have you checked the belt -- if it's frayed or looks worn it could cause transmission problems too.

well i tore into it again last night and im 75 percent sure that the gears i brought off of ebay are bad. if its not that then the only other thing i can think of is that maybe the bearing in the top transmission assembly is bad seems like it has slight play in it but im still leaning tore ward getting ripped off on ebay with a set gears. so with that in mind I decided to just rebuild the whole front of the mower wheel to wheel. thanks for the quick replies you guys are great
