I love to fix these small engines but this one has got me stumped. Any ideas greatly appreciated. Its a 10 year old Weed Eater leaf blower. Just stopped cold and will not even fire. Spark good, compression over 100, new carburetor which was installed before shutdown and ran good and just to insure it wasn't stopped up I have flushed it with carb cleaner in all passages. New flywheel with key. Cylinder bolts are tight, spark arrestor is clean. Tried starting fluid in cylinder and carb but nothing will make this engine fire. I don't want to let this thing beat me.

Stops dead is generally electric
If I was a betting man I would go for the flywheel shifting and putting the timing out
Pencil down the plug hole while you watch the flywheel to see the position of the magnets to the coil .

Welcome to MLF gary. Check the spark arrestor screen on the muffler for carbon build up, if you have one. Have you pulled the muffler and looked at the piston and ring for scoring? Compression testers with long hoses often give false readings.

Bizarre. You seem pretty thorough, so apologies beforehand, but is it new fuel?

Can you test the spark at the plug by removing it from the cylinder and pulling the starter cord? - even visually, you should see it spark, even if you don’t have special tools.

That should tell you at least if it’s electrical or fuel related.

drop a teaspoon of engine oil down the plug hole the hrn the engine over slowly without the plug for several minutes to get the ring (s) wet then try again to start it.

2 cycle is aggravating. You replaced the carb, likely with a new shiny one from Amazon? Try another one from Amazon. Just because it is new means nothing. Sometimes you may go through 3 or 4 to get one that works. Also check your fuel filter, replace them regularly if the machine is used a lot. I repair a lot of things that shops turn away, but sometimes, it is better to replace a tool than to keep attempting to make it work again

I was gonna comment on the shiny new Amazon carb also... I’ve had mixed results with them too... sometimes you get a bad one that will wreck your whole day. OEM is always more expensive, but you get what you pay for

"Just stopped cold and will not even fire" Did you check the crankshaft seals? I've seen them slide out on the crankshaft and still look like they are sealing at the block. A leak down test will confirm this, or put your finger over the carb intake and pull rope. Does it feel like it is sucking at W.O.T.? Got to love these kinds of problems? P.S. Got fuel? Please let us know what you find, PLEASE!
