I have cleaned out the needle valve a few times after finding out the hard way about proper winter storage problems. I replaced a bushing once that split in two. I showed it to a friend who was studying for a Master's in Material Science and he showed me where a small crack began that sheared the pulley in two. We noted that the replacement was very solid and anodized well. I have replaced a belt or two (especially after the bushing split) and have overall not had major problems that I could not fix.
