Only had 0.26" rain here yesterday but tornado's went through both North and South of us by 10-40 miles. That's a little too close!

At one point I had 69 people listing to my NOAA stream to WeatherUnderground. It was during rush hour so I suspect some of them were in cars listening on a cell phone.

We never lost electric and outside of the winds the sun was shining part of the time. I was at work with a good view of the storm clouds as they went South but did not have my camera.

Wow. Sounds like some nasty stuff! Glad you were out of the direct path of all the severe weather. This time of year the storms can be pretty devastating, with the different temperature ranges.

I'm not sure how much rain we had here in MN yesterday, but my room (the basement) flooded, the schools soccer/football/softball/etc feild was flooded and the roof was leaking in almost every hallway except the 1st floor ones. I haven't dared to open the shed where my tractors are, I know it's wet but I am dreading the rusted tools and wet boxes of parts when I go in there tomorrow.

Glad your alright!

I've been watching on TV about some of the flooding out there. :(

At the moment we can't buy a good soaking rain here. With temps in the low 90's F for several days along with stout winds fires have become a danger.

The above news story from down South of me about an hours drive. We did get enough to settle the dust tonight. Looks like early next week will be our next chance. On the plus side the farmers are making a big dent in the corn harvest and have also started on beans. Corn should be good this year but to me the beans looked a bit anemic locally. I have not actually walked a field though to look closer at them.

We're up to 9" of rain this week, expecting more tonight! High water debris took out the center pilings on a State hwy bridge just north of town earlier this week. They'll have to wait for the water to go down to see if it can be fixed or need replaced. Either way, it's a major inconvenience for a lot of people ( long way around), including a lot of cropland to harvest in that area. ~~ grnspot110
