Hope somebody can help - recently bought what appears to be an all original in not running condition. It had sat for two years after last use. Put in new battery, rebuilt the B&S 16HP carb, changed oil, fresh gas. It started. Adjusted carb. Seemed all good. Shut off. Half hour later it wouldn't start. Plug in left cylinder (from front) was dry. Right side wet. Looking down throat of carb there was some gas laying in bottom of intake manifold. Tried starting fluid anyway but to no avail. Don't know what to do. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Thx Mark, when it wouldn't restart spark was good. When I pulled a plug and turned it over, gas spit out of the wet side - - seems like one side had too much gas and the other not enough. I turned it over again today after sitting for a day and it started right up. Didn't have time to let it run for a while, shut off, try to restart. Maybe tomorrow.

Must still be a little gremlin left living in it somewhere. ;)

Is it gravity feed or does it have a fuel pump? Wondering if maybe the float could be a little sticky letting gas seep into the manifold. Then if the manifold slopes toward one cylinder it would get the excess fuel and flood where the other would stay dry.

Long shot I know but figured I would throw it out there. :D
