I am reassembling a GCV190 engine for my used Honda HXA217. When I disaasembled it, I took apart the Rotor-Stop mechanism. I can put it back together OK, but I can't rememer whether it was lubricated in any way, like maybe grease for the balls and plates and spring. Anyone out there know? I'm a new member, by the way.

Thanks.

Hello John and welcome to MLF. I'm by no means a Honda guy but there are some pretty sharp Honda guys here. I' sure someone will jump in with some info for you. Meanwhile enjoy taking a look around the forums.

Hi John, I've worked on a couple of different Honda Roto Stop systems, and neither one of the service manuals covering them called for any lubrication on any of the moving parts. Right off the top of my head, I would think that any lube would be lost pretty quickly to centrifugal force anyway, and might effect the grabbing ability of the blade brake.
