Wow, that is very unique!! Never seen one like that before. How long have you had it?

Thanks for sharing it with us! :)

I got this mower in the spring of last year. It is a real heavy duty mower. I am guessing that it is from the early 70's. I have never seen another ROOF push mower except for this one.

Interesting how shallow most of the deck is.
I was noticing that too, interesting design.

They used to be made in Pontiac, IL. Still some NOS parts available down that way if a person is able to do some rummaging around.
Cool stuff Brad! Somebody should snatch them up before they get thrown out.

Seems to me that either an agricultural company or trucking company bought them. I called there a few years back for a member looking for something. I could do some sniffing if anyone wanted any parts.

Edit--my daughter-in-law is from there and is visiting this weekend. I dropped her an email to see if her dad remembers anything about where the NOS stuff went.

Looking for Roof mower blade

Have not heard back from our daughter-in-law yet. She was going to ask her father if he could turn up any info down in Pontiac. We'll see what he can find out.
I am looking for a brush blade for a Roof Weed Mower,
Model VP-75. This is the high wheel weed mower.
This is a 26" flat blade with a 3/4" center hole.

I have a Roof VP-75 high wheel walk behind weed mower. I'm guessing it is from the '60's?
I'm in need if some parts. Ecspecially a blade for it. I am looking for a 26" blade with a 3/4" center hole. It needs to be a flat blade, i.e. NOT a high lift or mulching blade. There is no guarding or deck on this mower, and the high lift blades throw all the clippings up in your face.
Currently it has a blade from a Bachtold mower, but that blade has a 1 1/8"? center hole and there was a bushing like adapter used to fill slack space. This adapter has split and now the blade just spins on shaft. I can't tighten it up.

Way back when Roof was absorbed by 2 companies,
Maxim took their Rear Engine Rider and other stuff, Bachtold Brothers got their Walk Behind Mowers.
