Hello everyone, I have a Troy Bilt Horse XP Hydrostatic 46-in Riding Lawn Mower with a 22hp Kohler Engine and I'm constantly having to charge the battery. It will run for about 10-15 minutes then stop. I charge it for another hour and then the same thing happens. The battery is only three months old. Can someone help me figure out what the problem might be. Thanks in advance.

Welcome. Sounds like a bad voltage regulator or stator possibly. While engine is running, check voltage at battery with multi meter. Should be 12.5-14v. Does this tractor have an electric PTO? Also not unknown to have a bad new battery, should have it checked with load tester.

I don't think I have an electric PTO. I have to engage the PTO with a lever. I'm going to take the battery in to have it tested tomorrow. I will have to look in how to test the voltage regulator or stator.
