I have a 2007 yardman 46" riding lawn Mower mtd, Briggs and Stratton engine. Mower had been sitting since last year. The mower will not crank. I replaced the battery. Wouldn't crank so then I replaced solenoid and small 20 amp fuse. Wouldn't crank. Then tested starter and replaced with new starter. Wouldn't crank but this time at least the starter spins but does not engage the flywheel to turn the moter. The starter is the right size but when I turn the key the starter seems to just spin as not having enough power to turn the engine. After replacing the battery, fuse, solenoid, starter I don't know where to go from here. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to the forum Nogomower!

Just starting with the simple things...does the engine turn over by hand as it should? Also, is the gear on the starter ever lifting and making contact with the flywheel gear or is it stuck? You may what to try lifting the gear on the starter just to verify to it can rise freely.

Welcome nogomower. Let's see if we can change that name to gomower for you. Check the movement of the starter gear like Wayne suggested. If it's not moving on it's shaft to engage the gears on the flywheel, it will just spin like crazy, but then, that's not doing any good for you, is it?

Welcome to MLF!

Like Wayne mentioned, I would first spin the over by hand first to make sure it's not locked up or anything like that.
