Well I've saved this from the weeds thinking it'd be a cool little project and make a awesome gift for my kids 10th birthday that's 5 weeks away.... Main goal is having a reliable little tractor, put a smile on my kids face and teach him responsibility without him knowing it. I've ordered a harbor freight 5.5hp for it and getting v treads for the rear and 3 rib fronts. Here's my issues....1- need to make it posi trac but don't have a clue about the rear axle and how it works. 2- color schemes, should I redo the original paint work on it considering I can't seem to find many for these online or do it Kubota orange like my father's because my kid loves playing with grampys Kubota and this tractor will sleep side by side with the Kubota. Any history and info y'all may have will be greatly appreciated.. now for what I'm starting with.

Well today he spend 5+ hours driving around the fields and loved every minute of it by the end he was tapping out some tune in his head on the steering wheel. Definitely looking like the mower I bought for a transmission will get done as well only that will be getting a 13HP Honda side shaft and a comet clutch I've had on the shelf for to long. Probably won't start that till end of next month though I need a break. Again to everybody here thanks for the support and kind words this is most definitely one of the best forums I've seen and for that reason I'll be here for no other reason then a smile. I'll let everyone know when I start the next one. BTW I found its a wt grant by rugg. Basically a Kmart type store. I can't get away from clothing store tractors!

I remember a Grant department store in town. Think that is where we bought our first 10 gal. fish tank. Later I think the store turned into Woolworth. All gone now. Kresge, Harts, Hecks, long ago closed and most recently Kmart gone. Also miss the old Quality Farm & Fleet store. Tractor supply replaced it but they don't carry as much stock in store. All just memories now. :Duno:
