Rare Bolens 1455?? Sweden calling!!

6272 Views 12 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  bolens1
Sweden member (close to Arlanda airport Stockholm), owner of this special? Bolens.
The frame is 76 mm longer than original in front, the hood is 145 mm longer in rear end, and it looks factory built. Engine is missing, but the rest looks almost complete.
Decal says:
Model no 1981 0 Serial no 10
It is almost impossible to read "1981", but 0 and 10 is very clear
Have no technical or other info about this "thing". but expecting from you...
Price with/without engine - ???

Welcome to the site!

Your Bolens sounds like one neat machine. I'm personally not educated on them enough to know if the extended parts are factory or not, but somebody here should be comming along and know for sure.
Welcome braha!

I found a 1455 owners manual and parts list including wiring diagram on MTF:

Bolens 1455 OMM & Parts List - MyTractorForum.com - The Friendliest Tractor Forum and Best Place for Tractor Information

This 1969 magazine article linked below shows them priced about $1730 US when new.

Popular Science - Google Books

Sorry but I don't know enough about them neither to guess why it's dimensions are different from the standard or what a good price would be for one now.
Welcome braha! If you can, share some photos of your Bolens. We'd love to see it.

Looks like you might have one or two other future projects to keep you busy there as well. :D

Closer photo´s 1455

In reality, as you can see, it looks original factory-built. So now you Bolens-freak - tell me what this is, and how many they made? (As above - serial no 10.) ??? Value today? Anybody interested?
Feeling honored of "Junior member". A short time ago, I didn´t have it, but now The Beatle´s - "When I´m 64" is my lead melody.:D

It sure is a darn neat job if somebody did do it on their own!

Maybe it was some prototype that an engineer brought home from work. ;)
Bolens factory people?

Because both the painting and decals looks factory original (not repainted), and overall looks like a notsogoodtakencareofmachine from manufacturing date, I think I,m wright.
Can anybody show this thread to the man (people), who worked at the factory at that time? Might be some memorys or papers to dig up.

I'm guessing by the cut out in the hood and that frame extension, someone added a larger engine at some point ..
rare 1455

looks like someone extended to put on larger engine, maybe deisel?
that's my 2 cents worth,could be wrong
