This will be my last acquisition for a while....have to get caught up on my restorations. This is a 21" Guardian self-propelled. Won't know the model number for sure until it ships in, but I believe it is a 20571 from 1971:

The shroud I bought for the 1970 in one of my earlier posts will be just right for it. Just have to enlarge the hole for the starter handle and make the hole round and add some paint and stencil the white TORO letters and it will be like new.

That's great that you have the original cover for it! It's fun when you have a supply of extra miscellaneous parts like that which you can use for instenses like this.
I like your original ad! Reading those always gives lots of inspiration for when it comes time do a restoration.

Yes, I will be posting a resto thread for each as I get to them. Right now I have to finish unpacking the contents of our 10 x 20 storage unit. Brought the stuff back last week with a 26' u-haul truck and it has been unpacking and storing in the house ever since. We're getting there, though....shouldn't be too much longer.

Well, I am selling off some of my other collectibles so that I can keep on acquiring more old Toros because I keep on finding them. Think I may set up my garage to look like a 1970s Toro repair shop....not that it is far off from that right now.
Anyhow, here is # 8, which will be coming shortly. I believe that it is a 1968 model 20222. And boy, is it complete and original. I have been wanting one
with a crank for a while now:

And this is # 9, which will also be here soon. It's another 1970 model 18216. No
key-lectric still on this either, but the pull rope is just fine by me:

I will be posting some photos in a few days of some of the ongoing restoration of the others that are already here. One thing I want to show everyone is the air filter element in the 1971 Guardian. It has deteriorated so far that it looks like someone dumped the crumbs from a molasses cookie into the air filter box. :ROFL
