I'm trying to decide on a tractor. A JD 345, 425 or a Cub 2185 or 3225. I have 2-3 acres of lawn and about 4 acres of grass? that will be mowed once a month+-, and possibly snow removal in the winter. I'm liking the JD's from what I'm hearing, but the price on the Cubs are cheaper. I'd like to hear what you pros think.

Well first of all welcome and enjoy your stay. I would go with the 425 personally being a Deere guy. I just got a 445 and it's a complete joyride, no complaints whatsoever. We have a 345 and I don't know why but lots of people have issues with that certain model ours had lots of starter issues. Just because it's cheaper don't mean it's better in fact I would stay away from it. If you get the 425 get a blade like this to move snow. There is absolutely no hard work involved with this blade whatsoever if you now what your doing and you won't need to or want to get off the tractor.

A 425 may or may not have tranny issues later on, but from what I have heard and seen it's not an overly hard fix to do.
