Visiting from N. Indiana. Just bought a 92 Simplicity Landlord DLX w/a 16 hp Vanguard engine. Has the 3 bag catch system as well. I paid 790.00 for it w/880 hours. They were asking 875.00. People I have talked to familiar w/this unit say I got a good deal..... I hope so.
Everything works as it should. I wanted to remove the bagger system during the summer, but as I see the setup, it looks to have a secondary mulching system attacted the the main chute on the top. Pulleys exist under the attachment to the mower. At least it takes a while to fill the bags up.
I will post to the specific forums for other questions and comments as I get into this tractor a little more. One question I have though has to do with the hydro system.
I lifted the seat and saw an expansion resovoir. I read that no oil gets poured into the resovoir. So I got under the back end of the tractor and cleaned the mud off the clear tube leading from the bottom of the resovoir to the trans. To the left of the tube is a fill plug ( yellow). The cap to the expansion tank says to use 10W30 and to "fill at tube." Is it telling me to fill the unit where the small yellow cap is on the back, or do I physically remove the tube and fill the tube to the indicated level? The latter seems more difficult, unless I remove it to avoid air pockets when filling at the yellow cap. The tractor was sold as is, so no service was performed on it. It was just looked over. Previous owner as far as I can tell, took pretty good care of it. I'll post pics down the road. Thanks! Oh btw, anybody know where I can get some Simplicity orange paint cheap?:D

Welcome to the group.:welcome: Congratulations on your "new" tractor. I'm not familiar with it myself, but perhaps someone else here is. Did you get an owner's or service manual with it? I know those things tend to grow legs and run away quite often. If not, you might be able to get one from Simplicity. That would answer most of your questions.

Look forward to hearing more from you.

:howdy:Welcome to the forum!

You can enter your tractors' model number into the Simplicity manuals website below and they should have a downloadable owners manual for you. That should definately have some pointers as to where to fill the hydro fluid.

You can buy OEM Simplicity paint at the site below but it's not exactly cheap. I couldn't find anything cheaper though.
