Hello everyone, I'm a new member from Indiana. I have a 1975 John Deere 400, that won't shut off with the key. I replaced key switch, still no help. Could it be the solenoid?
I'm hoping someone can help me figure this out. I sure would appreciate it.
This sounds like the ignition system primary wire from the coil is missing a path to ground which it needs to stop the engine-check the wiring schematic for the tractor and check the stop circuit from the key switch connector to see if there is a broken connection to ground. Hope this helps.
