Need to replace the drive belt

2471 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  MI Bob
My 98 10323 LB has finally worn out it's drive belt after 13.5 summers of use. I did a parts search (along with looking here to see IF anyone has done this before), and found that the belt number is 92-1043. Can anybody tell me how long this belt is? I'd like to be able to go to NAPA or TSC and get one, rather than ordering 1 up from Iowa or some other state. I don't have a "local LB parts dealer" close by, and I need to finish cutting the lawn. And without the self propelled assist, it's just a little too much for me to push. ;) Thanks for any help you can offer.

Iowa is lovely this time of year:D

I put Lawn Boy 92-1043 into Google, and this came up:

TRUE-BLUE BELT
3/8 X 33

I've had good luck taking the part number of belts I needed, plus the model of the mower the belt is related to, and maybe the relevant exploded diagram, to my local Carquest store. I'd give them a try, if you have one, and see if they can cross reference it for you. Maybe NAPA can do the same.
Well, I searched the yellow pages, and found a Toro dealer semi close by. He had the belt in stock. There's also a second number of 0270 on the belt, along with a MFG date. Don't know if the 0270 number will help (maybe it's a Toro number). The belt did cost 21.25 out the door though, but I figure that 13.5 years on a belt isn't too bad, and I needed to finish cutting the lawn. Took about an hour to swap it out, since you have to pull the engine to get the old belt off, and get the new one on.

I guess it's time to look at the other LB's I've got here, and see if I can put together a spare mower.
