I am really enjoing this new forum for lawnmowers. I am hoping someone out there has an answer or suggestion on my problem. My neighbor has a 2007 Lawnboy electric start (rope start capable also) self-propelled lawnmower. Model 10686. The problem is that it acts as if the engine brake is still particially engaged. I have looked it over and I did not see a way to adjust the brake mechanically. When I pull back on the handle cable I can see that it engages a switch which I am not sure what it is does. If it were mine I would tear into it and hope for the best but it is one that my neighbor's wife uses, 78 years old, and if I mess it up, her husband will never hear the end of that. Any help would be much apprieciated. I still like the old ones that are basic and simple to work on.

Thanks for the help on where to search for the information. I glanced at it last night. Going to print the info tonight so I have a hard copy to take with me. Will probably attempt to work on it this weekend. Overtime at work is keeping me away from some of my fun.
