Well, first day out since New-Years, when I got the idea to do valve work because it ran horribly, that led to other issues.. but after a day and a half of non-stop Pony, she's alive! Compared to my other videos, it sounds amazing, and it actually pulls itself up hills! Before, I had issues with that hill in first gear, now it just breezes up it in 3rd. Still very worn and only 11hp from the factory, it's a 1954 Massey-Harris Pony. The real issue apparently with the noise pre-work, was actually the fact the that the timing was WAY out. The book states the wrong wire and timing mark for the distributor. Now it just purrs, and I can actually use the hand-crank! Now the carb's giving me grief, but here's a video of her. The neighbor thought my Father's Farmall was coming down the road on my first run. It's really a different tractor now! Morale; don't trust everything you read in a re-printed 60 year old manual.. :sidelaugh
