I really need some help identifying my exact Murray ride on mower. I need a manual/ parts guide but the mower id sticker is missing.
Are their alternative ways of identifying/ getting the right model?

If it has a Briggs an Stratton engine you could possibly use the engine code to narrow down the year of manufacture. Using that you might be able to google the inter web putting the year together with Murray 10/30. You never know, somebody out there has one like yours.
Murray, I'm pretty sure, is made by MTD. Many parts are interchangeable. Leave a couple pictures and we may be able to narrow it down. If it's nota step through, then I think that would put it into the late 90'2.

No, Murray has been part of Briggs & Stratton since 2004...

I hope these pictures help. Also I was wondering if it is normal to have a piece of plastic that seems to stop me engaging the throttle to choke the engine.
Im wondering if this was added by the last owner or if it is suppose to be their?

Looks like your Murray is from about the late 1980s to 1991, based on the bagger. Looks similar to the Murray 30705...

The 5 speed is right but mine has a 10hp Briggs. Also do you think that that plastic piece on the throttle is normal? It looks like it’s stopping me choking.
I’ve just had a look again and the engine is wrong, not only is that model a 8hp and mine is a 10hp but also it says it’s a manual recoil and mine is an electronic starter motor.

Yes, I realize that, but it's what I could find with a 30" deck from that era. The Murray 30702 is also similar, and does have electric starting.

There are a number of Murray 30" mowers near the bottom of the list on this page:

For example:
Thank you for looking. I cannot find anything that’s 10hp and 30”. I have found pictures on GumTree but the adverts are old and I cannot view them.
On a separate issue. What do you think about the plastic piece that is stopping me from fully engaging the choke? Is that a normal practice?

Did you look at those last two links in post #10?
