It might be if that mulch kit includes baffles and deflectors under the deck above the blades it requires the special OE blades with the kit.
The kit for my John Deere is like that. The OE non-mulching blades will hit the deflector plate on the right side. Last I checked there was not an aftermarket mulching blade that would work with the kit installed.
