I'm looking for a mulch plug for my Craftsman 917.274822 but am not having very good luck. I emailed Sears and asked them about it and they gave me a part number..... that doesn't exist, at least not on their own web site. Apparently my 6 year old mower is "too old". EVERYTHING I have found researching on line is the correct mulch plug WITH blades!! I just need the plug and am becoming frustrated. I have tried Ebay and Craigslist with no luck. I'm not sure what, if any, other brands are compatible so I can't even go that route. Very frustrating.....

Dunno..... I can't view it for some reason. The info I got from Sears was for a model number that can't be looked up on the website, I'm assuming for the same reason I couldn't look my mower up (too old).

Well, I got and tried the mulch plug Saturday..... works GREAT except for the dust kicked up by it. What a mess!!! The plug isn't "the" one for my mower but it works. I "think" the dust kicked up is actually coming from the front of the mower deck..... my yard has some really bad dry dirt spots and dust is usually a problem when I mow, usually it gets shot out the side though and doesn't affect me. Oh well, the mulch plug did what it was designed to do and did it well.
