I just finished my restoration and was planning on putting the mower into service. I mounted the mower deck and found it sits too far back under that carriage. It will rub on the rear tires when it is in the up position and the belt from the mule is similarly too short. I can’t for the life of me figure out what I did wrong. Any help would be wonderful. This is an ss 12, model 917.25733

I think you have the rear tires on backward! My 1967 SS10 is opposite mounted and when we got it deck did not rub. Also your tractor is more like a 1974 by style of hood and colors. I had one like it, ST12.
