I wish I knew more about the newer Lawnboys but I don't. Ask me about pre 1982 and I can be of help. That said, here is my take. Having owned Lawnboys for 37 years there are things I like and don't like. I do not care for the steel deck models. I do not care for 4 cycles. I do not care for rear baggers. I do not like the newer post compliant mowers with all the safety bails and stuff. But that is just me. That may be a nice mower. Things to check would be tire wear (wheels are expensive), any deck damage (steel rusts and can get holes if grass is left under and not cleaned). Hopefully the mower was well maintained. About to purchase a used one. Are they generally reliable? Is $175 a good price for a used one owner model with extra bag? It starts on first pull each time I tried it 4 separate times. Seems to run flawlessly and cut just as good. I’ve never owned a Lawn-Boy but used the 2 stroke models back in the 80’s😎.
