You're right on that Mark. How about the attire of the fellows mowing? White shirt on one, necktie on the other. A quick mow, and off to church.

Yeah, it seems the further back in history you go the more dignified the general population dressed for gatherings and even just to do labor.

Another 100-200 years and we'll be walking around in a robe when it's cold and naked when it's hot. :rolleyes:

The fellow with the white shirt is really serious about getting down to business, he has his sleeves rolled up. Everyone in those old ads looked to be in pretty good shape too. Having trotted along behind a vintage reel mower, I can see why. Mowing with one of them keeps you going just to keep up!
