I'm from fort worth and can't find any specific laws regarding riding mowers on the road way. It would only be for about 5-10 minutes between houses. My local pd also couldn't give me specific details about it. How would I find out

You might want to try to get a copy of the state’s vehicle code, county codes and local ordinances. Such rules probably vary from state to state, location to location. I can’t say for sure, but I would guess any regulations pertaining to agricultural equipment might apply. Let us know if you find anything more.

The village I live in has a printed map of streets that are legal for non-licensed motor vehicles to use without penalty. Golf carts, minibikes, farm equipment and etc. are exempt if the speed limit is less than 35mph and is not a state or county road.

Generally they are not “ road worthy“ Like regular vehicles (headlights, tail lights, running lights, turn signals, etc) I’m surprised your local PD couldn’t advise you. Is there a local DOT office?
