I have a ~1993 Lawnboy Silver series push mower with a 2-stroke engine. Lately it has been stopping while mowing. It usualy will start back up. Sometimes it quites a couple times during mowing and others more. Always has started back up. It seems to me that the coil is going bad. these mowers have solid state ignition coils. Will these act like otherecoils when they get hot they can stop working?

It is the most common problem with LBs that the coil goes bad. Other than running them without oil in the gas there isn't much that can go wrong with them. That is the only part I have replaced on my 1999 Silver series 10323. Roger
