Hello I am having a few problems with my lawn mower. I just got it from my dad who had it for a few years and just upgraded to a riding lawnmower. I have used it in my backyard about 6 times before yesterday. My grass was about 6 inches high because we had a lot of rain this past week and I was out of town the week before. I was cutting my grass when I ran over a small glass citronella candle. I was scared because of the noise and stopped the mower, cleaned up the mess and then kept on cutting. It was working fine for about 10 more minutes and then it just stopped running. I checked the air filter on the side and cleaned it pretty good and it still won't start up. I am not very handy with things so I don't know the first thing about how to fix a lawn mower but I know how to follow instructions. Thanks for any help.

The first thing I would do is check the fuel tank. (Been there and done it) Do you have any fuel in it. Next, check for spark on the spark plug. If you have spark, remove the air filter and pour a small amount of fuel directly in the carburetor. When you do this, the engine should start. If it runs briefly and then stops again, you have a carb issue. I am not familiar with your model mower. If it has a fuel shut off valve, the valve may have moved to the closed position when you cleaned up the mess.

First welcome to the forum!
Second did you ever get it to work? Or is it still down?

Did you check the flywheel key? It could have shared a bit and threw off the spark timing.

Also Welcome!!:D
