Hi folks,

My 1989 JD RX75 would not start after the winter break, I have tried several different things to get it running.
It cranks but will not fire... not even with starting gas.
Change primary & secondary drive belt end of season last year.
9 HP Kawasaki engine

List of what I have done so far:
  • Change oil, oil filter, gas filter & air filter.
  • new spark plug (check for spark while ground)
  • compression ok
  • flywheel & ignition (In right position)
  • new gas
  • battery
  • carburetor checked
  • valve lifter works fine

Hope anyone can give me some ideas to get it running again.

So you have spark, correct?
after winter, it's advisable to drain the old gas out of tank and start with the fresh. put your old stuff in the car, it doesn't care.
if fresh gas doesn't do it, remove the carburetor and clean it.
Thanks a lot again, I clean the carburetor as subscriptions said on your link and added fresh gas.
It didn’t work with fresh fuel before cleaning the carburetor.
now it’s running great again
