Im working on a John deere sx 85 the person said it ran ok when put away for winter now it wont drive eather forwards or reverse I check and replace the trans axle belt but to no avail I also disengaged the barke and checked all out , the transaxal pully spins and the brake plate runs but no transfer to wheels I can hear it engage when shift lever is moved. looks like Im going to have to drop the unit of I dont get help thanks ED

Hello, edowens, and welcome to the forum. Is the axle turning when you put it in gear? Wonder if a key is sheared or broken.

yes the drift key is sheared or gone

What a Dummy! Ive been repairig these things forever and just over looked the one thing I usaly check first! when the customer said it ran great before parking threw me off , they forgot to tell me they took the wheel off for repairs boom it hit me , NO KEY all fixed guess I'de better look better before asking dumb questiond huh thanks agin ED
