I have a Viking Lawn Tractor (Ride On we call them in Oz) model MT433H - I have be told that Vikings are re-badged Murrays and have the same manufacture number - mine has the number 40567X53A under the seat. Can someone tell me if that is a Murray model?

I would assume the "MT" in the model number would be a dead giveaway. MT for: Murray Tractor.

I could be wrong though, but it makes sense, could we see a pic?

I have seen quite a few USA Murrays over the years, perhaps it shares the same styling.

I'm not sure.

VIKING - Lawn mowers - Lawn tractors - Shredders - Tillers - Petrol lawn mower - Electric lawn mower - Accessory

I did find a recall notice from 2004 on gas tank leaks which we had on for various brands here around the same time I believe.

Stihl

Neither the model or the other number came up when I tried at Murray's website but they do have visual similarities:

Walk-Behind Mowers - Riding Mowers - Tractors - Cultivators - Snowthrowers | Murray

I see they are still making the rear discharge deck. A neighbor to my grandmother had a Murray with the rear discharge deck back in the 1970's. I drove it once and thought it pretty neat to be able to trim on both sides and the grass would not pile up much even when it was tall. Only bad part was you could not windrow with the deck for raking or sweeping.

My Case 224 GT has a rear discharge deck and I love it, my pull behind sweeper gathers up the neat little row it leaves...

and no more worrying about drilling the siding or the cars with projectiles.

It's got me spoiled.

That's what I do with my Deere w/mulch kit if the clippings are too heavy. Just pull the sweeper behind as I go. Sure cuts down the number times you have to empty the sweeper when doing leaves. :D
