Hello Pat and welcome to the forum. I might be wrong but if you take your model # and take it to a mower part dealer or something like that they can tell you. Never had an inersoll. As far as price I would pay no more than maybe $500-600. But like i said I'm not an inersoll person so know nothing about them. I do know the Onans are excellent engines. Is it a twin cylinder Onan? or single? As far as service manual, try ebay. Ebay usually always has service manuals for alot of different mowers.

wow! Big range their. If you are a member of MTF, you will get more info from them on the inersoll thread. I personally would only pay the $500-600 but I am cheap. SO I would proabably make somebody mad. Oh well I guess.

Case/Ingersoll are the same company. Allis Chalmers was a part of Simplicity and now are part of AGCO corp.

That depends on your area, as some places it might sell for $900 if there are a lot of them around where it might sell for a lot more if you only have a few around. I would ask $1300 myself. Whats the specs of the Engine and transmission? Do they run good? No odd noises from the Trans and it shifts OK etc? If the engine runs good with no smoke or oil usage and the trans shifts ok with no problems then I would say about $1000-$1300 is a good price.

BTW Welcome Pat!

It was my understanding that this was a "lawnmower" forum that was here to deal with mowers that get pushed or at least...you walk behind. So I'm a bit surprised to find discussion about garden tractors here. Call me crazy but I thought that those discussions belonged on MTF.

Anyway, I'll clarify a few things here.

First off Case and Ingersoll are NOT the same company. Originally, these tractors were made by the Colt Manufacturing company and J. I. Case bought that company in 1964. Then Case SOLD the company to John (Jack) Ingersoll in 1983 who then sold it to the Rothenberger Group out of Germany who later on place the company into Chapter 11. Eastman Industries then picked up the company, moved it to Maine and is producing product today.

There is no connection to Gravely, Allis Chalmers or Simplicity that I've been made aware of.

I'm not going to bother getting into values because this is an old thread and the OP has not shown any further interest in it.
