I have the Husqvarna HU700H Self-Propelled walk behind lawn mower and the wheel height Axle Rear Rgd part number HUS-532430598 scalps my yard if I have the lawn mower deck height set on the lower half adjustment levels. I have set the bar so it's in its highest possible position to not scalp the yard. Although very often the edge of the Axle Rear Rdg bar scalps the ground and peels up the lawn. Is this a design issue or an initial set-up issue? I have been unable to figure out a setting which will not scalp the lawn. The bar edge is like a cutting blade (it digs into the lawn (ground)). I have patches throughout my yard due to this mower. No doubt if my yard was perfectly flat this would not be an issue. The distance from the bottom of the wheel to the edge of the bar is way too short. Look at the last attached picture when the mower is set on the second to the last lowest setting. When on this setting the bar will always scrap the ground and peel up a large patch of grass. Any known solutions besides buying a new mower? I can't be the only owner with the issue.

First thanks for the reply. You replied” “highest position”. I assume you mean highest wheel position relative to the deck. Which is the lowest deck cut positiion. It’s not the wheel distance to blade causing all the scalping. It’s the bar distance to the blade and to the wheel. The bar follows the wheel (goes up and down with the wheel) when moving the deck height. So the bar is always close to the ground verses the deck, which causes the bar to scalp the ground. I adjusted the bar so it’s furthest from the bottom of the wheel in all deck height positions. Meaning greatest distance between bottom of the wheel and the bar in all deck height positions. The bar still scalps my lawn and peels up the sod when the deck height is set in position 1,2 and 3 (shortest cut position). I agree something is not right. I think it’s a design flaw.

Bar controls wheel deck height from one side to the other side of the mower. This mower has only one mechanical knob which controls the height of all four wheels. This bar transfers the knob side position to the no knob side.
