My lawn mower was hard to start (took about ten pulls) and it wasn't running strong so I decided to clean the carburetor. The jets were cleaned and now it won't even run. After I cleaned the carburetor and tried pulling the starter cord, it snapped. I went back to the store and got another one. This one seems to be a little shorter on the pull, but it won't start at all now.

Do you think something is clogging the lines? I plan on taking the carb off tomorrow again to clean it. What's the best way to trouble shoot it?

When you cleaned the carb, did you dissemble the internals and remove the float/jet(s) etc? If so, are you certain everything went back in the correct order? Throttle & choke linkage operating?

I would test for fuel flow from the tank to the carb to confirm there are no blockages.

You might also try cleaning or replacing the spark plug as it could have been fouled from running poorly before and now simply not wanting to light off.
