Hi everyone, my name's Fred and I'm from Boston. This forum looks pretty new but I figured I'd give it a shot.

I currently have an old electric lawnmower and am looking for something new. My neighbors have a gas powered one (and it is SO LOUD) so I'm hoping you all have some good suggestions. My lawn is pretty big, I have about half an acre to mow ever day, and the electric cable is annoying to carry, not to mention my gloves are covered in grass by the end of my weekly cutting.

Are you looking for a rider or push/self-propelled? My suggestion is going to be go to a regular mower shop and ask for some demonstrations. The loudness is going to be pretty much the same amongst most mowers and there's only a few engine makers out there these days. Might try Toro, Snapper, Honda. I think that you would be happy with any of those. Plus, they are going to last you a long time!
