I just can't get the thing to start. I have spark and compression. I'm gonna get a new plug for it later today but the one in there looks good.

I cleaned the carb out and the float is rusty but still works. But the jet seems to unscrew after a while.

I don't know... Could I have a weak coil?

Ok, I went and got a new plug for it even though the old one looked ok...

Its running but not what I would consider steady. Could it be a weak coil or could it be slightly out of alignment?

I would suggest some carb work. From my experience, the coil either works or it doesn't. Have you removed the carb and cleaned it. I have seen more LB's that don't start or have some starting issues and all that is needed is a carb cleaning. I check for carb troubles by spraying starting fluid down the throat of the carb. If it fires up with starting fluid, then I clean the carb to get it to run as it was designed to do.

I did clean the carb out... Heck it may just be simpler to get a new one...
