Hey guys, I'm a newbie and am hoping I can get a little help here. I've got this old Ford with a 12.5 Kohler Command, 48" cut. Recently its started to discharge while mowing. I'm wondering if there's a fuse on this model? Anyone know where one can find a repair manual for either the tractor or the enginge, or have any clues what can be causing the discharge?

A little more background here: when it started having this problem I took it to a local shop. They put a new battery on it, tuned it up and sent me home. 2 mows later I was back in the same boat. Put the battery on a trickle charger overnight and its good to go in the morning. I've been dealing with it that way all season this year, and half of last. Its getting worse, I can only get 1 mow per charge out of the battery these days so I need to do something different.

what do you think?

Thanks for your help and suggestions

I would begin by checking all your wiring connections, including the grounds. Have to make sure the current can make it's way thru. You can get a manual for your engine at Kohler.com, where you can download an owners manual and a repair manual. I have a John Deere STX38 with a 12.5 vertical and have downloaded them. Very well written with all bases covered.

I would also check the diodes if there are any. My Bolens wouldn't charge the battery and it ended up being the diode.
