Title caught my eye from this recent Jalopnik article.

You Can Buy This Sexy Mercedes CLS63 AMG For The Price Of A Ford Fusion

Mercedes-Benz' styling department was firing on all cylinders in the late 2000s, from their awesome SL hardtop convertible to the pinnacle of their avant-garde design: this sleek and surprisingly powerful 518 horsepower CLS63 AMG. Now yours for the price of a moderately-equipped Ford Fusion AWD.

This 2008 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG is fast. Really, really fast. It has 518 horsepower coming from its massive 6.2 liter naturally aspirated V8, and it scrambles from 0-60 miles per hour, with 4 people in the car, faster than a Ferrari 360 Modena. It can also make short work of the twisties, with its Airmatic suspension that can be adjusted on the fly to suit various driving situations.

It also has the usual Mercedes amenities such as massaging ventilated seats, radar guided cruise control, and a button that automatically opens and closes your trunk for you, because who the **** has time for that anyway?

The car's 46,000 miles are reasonably low for the year, and it looks as if the car was previously taken care of quite well, with a warranty available from the dealership for a nominal fee. Not only are the naturally aspirated versions of these cars more reliable than their turbo and supercharged siblings, but there is more instant response from the punchy brute, with no lag in power whatsoever.
This car is perhaps the most beautiful 4-door car that Mercedes has produced in the last few decades, and it will certainly withstand the test of time. Now's your chance to get it for pennies on the dollar.

Austen, actually looked at a couple of C300 in local paper, nothing more. The upkeep of a Merc would kill me! $400 oil changes?!? Not sure exact pricing, but know it would not be as cheap as Fusion! :)

That is a pretty Benz, would love to own one. It's just the payment book and dealer labor rates that are the killer of that dream!

Yeah, you better have a deep pocketbook if you buy one that is out of its warranty period too.

I've driven some of the newer S/CLS/E Class AMG's and they will pin you to the back of the seat right off the bat. They have a muscle car like motor feel to them that BMW, Lexus etc doesn't have.

I have the helmet cam video so I can relive it any time I want! Lol The driver that road shotgun wouldn't let me turn off the traction control, I still broke it loose accelerating off a corner. It was awesome!

That's a great video, what a car!

Mike , they do similar things here at Monticello motor club. I was on track once, in my old jobs delivery van!? I was at least on track, for 20' ,then to the secret garage where all the car porn is kept!

I ran Pike's Peak a few years back, awesome experience driving the switchbacks and climbing up and over the tree line into rock! Only problem was I was driving a rented Town and Country mini van and didn't get the total thrill of the race! It was still an amazing drive, beautiful views and scenery.

Sounds like a thrill of a lifetime!

I like the Black Series in that second video.

That is one amazing and beautiful drive. Regarding driving experience, it sounds somewhat similar.

Several years ago my Dad and I were in Colorado and we took a rental Mazda 3 up Pikes Peak. At around 3/4 of the way up, it began starving for air so badly to the point where we had it on the floor and it was only going about 20 miles an hour or so.
