Hi all. I was just wondering if it is any harder to rebuild a Briggs 18 hp twin, than it is for a single, and if there is anything i should be careful of when i do it. I have an older NOMA with a 18hp briggs that is burning oil bad, so i figured i might as well go ahead and rebuild it. I am going to rip it apart and check the cylinders to see if they are scored or out of round, and check the valve seats and guides before i decide what all i am going to do with it. I may get lucky and find that a simple hone and new rings, and maybe new valve guides and seals will fix it, but i doubt it. It was used commercially for several years before i got it, and the guy who had it let every one and their brother use it. I would also like to know if there is anything specific to those engines that i should look out for. Thank you in advance for your help.
