I have a 14.5 B&S mounted on a John Deere LX 176.The governors will not level out.I am going to check & set valve clearance intake- .005,exh.-.007
They have never been set that I know of. All suggestions will be appreciated!

OK I adjusted valves then removed carborator from engine & blew it out with air replaced carb. on engine. The engine is working fine now including the governor.OH!
The valves were really off the true setting.It took about 1 hour to do this. I was not in a hurry.

I am new here and enjoying what I see and read.
